KINSMAN SANTA PARADE: The annual Kinsman Santa Parade will be 2 p.m. today at the Kinsman Township Square, 8200 Main St. The Kinsman Business Association is sponsoring the Gingerbread House on the Square to collect letters to Santa. The parade will travel from Good Intentions to Boyds’ Home. Santa will be on the square to pick up all the letters and to visit from 3 to 5 p.m.
HOLIDAY COOKIE KITS: The McKinley Memorial Library in Niles has holiday cookie kits through Dec. 30. Families can visit the library or schedule a curbside pickup to get a free take-home cookie kit while supplies last. Each kit contains cookie mix, frosting and a cookie cutter. COLLECTING FOR SOMEPLACE SAFE: The Johnston Senior Center is collecting donations for Someplace Safe. Someplace Safe seeks to reduce and prevent domestic violence and improve the quality of life for victims of domestic violence in Trumbull County. Urgent donations that are needed are body wash for adults and children, body lotion for adult and children, Dove bar soap, bath towels, twin and full-size comforters and sheet sets, and pillows. The center also is collecting everyday essentials such as toothpaste, shampoo and other toiletries. Items can be dropped off at the center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Donations also can be taken to 1370 Tod Ave. NW, Warren.
SANTA’S WORKSHOP: Santa’s Workshop’s annual toy drive is being held in Newton Falls. Last year with the public’s help, 340 Newton Falls children were given more than 1,700 games, toys, winter gloves and hats during the holiday season. Monetary donations, unwrapped toys and new clothing can be dropped off 256 W. Broad St., across from the Church Mouse. For information, call Rick at 330-993-7872.
FESTIVAL OF TREES: The Fellows Riverside Garden Festival of the Trees will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday through Jan. 7 at 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown. More than 50 trees are on display — all decorated by organizations across the Mahoning Valley.
