A soon-to-be-blind gamer turned to Reddit for advice, and Redditors delivered enormous support.
Reddit user u/darkcitrusmarmelade went to Reddit to ask Redditors to ask what games they should play before they turn legally blind. The Redditor writes:
“I have an eye-condition that will probably make me legally blind within in next 6-12 months.”
The Redditor then listed down games they’ve enjoyed and given some more criteria on what kind of games they’re looking for. In a reply to one of the comments, the Redditor shared the extent of their condition. “In 6-12m i will probably be legally blind even with optimal glasses due to Retinal and Makular Degeneration,” they writes. “So in the longer term i will lose all sight in my central vision, and will only have a sliver of vision in the corners of the eyes.”
The post quickly received a lot of upvotes and even awards, with a crowd of gamers dropping their suggested game titles. However, the support didn’t even end there, as a couple of users also offered emotional support, suggesting that they follow legally blind gaming content creators to find out how they cope with their blindness. Heartwarming occasions and wholesome conversations like this one with the soon-to-be-blind gamer rarely get highlighted in the video gaming community.
