A deep running back class and the offensive linemen will be in the spotlight on the second day of the on-field workouts at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
The big names like Iowa State’s Breece Hall, Michigan State’s Ken Walker, and Texas A&M’s Isaiah Spiller will be put through the gamut on drills, so we’ll get a sense of how those three feature back types compare athletically. Looking forward to that.
In the trenches, we unfortunately won’t get to see Alabama’s Evan Neal run after decided to wait until his pro day on March 30 to demonstrate to everyone how much of an athletic freak he is at 337 pounds. At the podium earlier in the week, he looked like 227 pounds. No one carries that weight as well as he does.
Follow along tonight as we’ll be providing observations all evening.
Quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends competed on Thursday and if you want to catch up on what happened during Day 1 of the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine you can find that below.

Second offensive line group will be coming to a close soon and then we will dive into the running backs.

Raimann showing off his movement skills. He and Trevor Penning are two guys that have been highlighted by Shaun O’Hara and Joe Thomas on the NFL Network coverage.

I agree.

There’s been some buzz on Nicholas Petit-Frere from Ohio State as a second-round pick. I didn’t see it on film.

Strange had a great week at the Senior Bowl too

Respectable time from Chattanooga’s Cole Strange as well. He burst on to the scene when the Mocs played Kentucky early in the season. Strange was holding his own against a few Wildcats in attendance this weekend: DLs Joshua Paschal and Marquan McCall.

Raimann is a former tight end from Austria, still learning the position but the obvious athleticism has led to him being a popular first-round projection. He will turn 25 years old at the start of the 2022 regular season.

Rosenthal under 5.00. Expected as Josh mentioned, but still great times for him.

And Parham and Paul are noticeably athletic on film too at the guard spot

Really good times from Dylan Parham and Chris Paul; both with sub 5.00 second 40-yard dash times and sub 1.75 second 10-yard splits.

Wake Forest’s Zach Tom is a baller. My favorite mid-round versatile blocker. Made the very unusual flip from center in 2019 to left tackle in 2020 and 2021. So quick and balanced

He played left tackle in a heavy run offense. Punishes jumpers. Plays with a meanstreak. Average mobility. Can cut the corner short at times. Drives his feet on contact. I would like to see him adjust his hands to re-anchor, just didn’t have to do that at that level.

Your thoughts on Rupcich, Josh?

Was just going to say… I have not got my hands on any Culver-Stockton film yet. Need to.

Obscure game that I watched this year: Culver-Stockton vs. Midamerican Nazarene for Andrew Rupcich.

The Georgia blockers THRIVE as run-blockers. That scheme just pumps out maulers for the ground game.

Gotcha, Josh. Yeah Paul and Tyler Smith are both very fascinating. Raw but super talente

I thought he was quick relative to his size but speed gave him problems at tackle. I projected him to guard but love his upside there. I have him as a top 100 type of guy right now.

Josh, how do you see Chris Paul? I wouldn’t hate if he got a shot at OT in the NFL.

Parham is a mauler too inside. One of the best anchors I’ve watched on film despite not being a large player. Low center of gravity type.

One of the slowest times of the day from Max Mitchell, a guy who is praised as a wide zone scheme fit. Some have mentioned him as a possible first round pick.

Slower time than I expected for Max Mitchell. He’s a fun watch. Does everything well. Good athletic traits and is a real battler.

I mean Wilson could play for that long, I just think now would be the time for the Seahawks to unload him if they d

As Ron Burgundy would say, Josh — agree to disagree ?

Wilson just turned 33 years old. He could play another seven years so I wouldn’t trade him for anything less than three first-round picks.
