  1. On Sunday, Access Education RRISD, a group concerned with how Round Rock ISD is handling COVID-19, gathered for a rally outside the Texas Governor’s Mansion. Access Education RRISD describes itself as “a local, grassroots organization of engaged, concerned Round Rock ISD parents and community members organizing in our community.” The group is asking the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to give schools the resources to combat COVID-19.   2. According to employment estimates reported by the Texas Workforce Commission, the Amarillo and Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) recorded December’s lowest unemployment rates among Texas MSAs. The non-seasonally-adjusted rate of the area is 2.9 percent, followed by College Station-Bryan at 3.2 percent, then Abilene and Lubbock each at 3.3 percent.

  • Over 1,200 Central Texas DECA students competed at Cedar Ridge High School, presenting business, marketing, hospitality, and finance concepts. Events like this are made possible by committed teachers, involved community members, and eager students. Congratulations to the competitors, teachers, and volunteers for a successful event.
