Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- A Chester County-based gaming studio raised thousands of dollars for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in a 24-hour gaming marathon. Uplink Studios partnered with Extra Life, a program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, for the weekend charity event. Gamers of all ages came in and out of the studio over the 24 hours, raising over $5,000 — well above their original goal of $2,000. (WPVI-TV)
- A 16-year-old was hospitalized after being shot seven times in West Philadelphia on Saturday night. The teenage boy was shot on June Street just before 9:00 p.m., then taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical but stable condition. No arrests have been made at this time. - Drivers in the Philadelphia area can expect delays this week due to lane restrictions on Interstate 95 and Castor Avenue. PennDOT will be conducting bridge inspections throughout the week, beginning today and running through Friday. (MyChesCo)
